The photos of the My Wild Places series are a journey through the primitive joy of contemplating the world.
A way of becoming aware of ourselves in Nature, through the power of vision, beauty and wonder. Wild landscapes have a sharp and poignant timeless charm; I believe that the poetic combination of vision, beauty and amazement can be pedagogical. Faced with certain things, we can only look to be overwhelmed. Vision has the power to expand our knowledge and direct our memory. Most of these places are dry and inhospitable, but they all have a kind of bitter sweetness. A powerful and inexplicable beauty. Sometimes it is only the miracle of light that shines on the surface of the rocks. The appearance of great horizons is a magnificent way of escape, a means to reconcile the spirit.
